This journey begins on 3rd
December 2019.
I came to ASBKL for registiration. I was
given cooperate shirt and bed number and dorm for me to stay at ASBKL for three
months. Because it is still in school
holiday so there is no ASBKL student. My dorm was located at level 3 at Aspura
building. For your information, I get into this course with one of my
schoolmates. Nora Asyikin. Once I arrived at dorm, I find where my locker
located. After done clear my bag. I introduced myself to everyone in dorm. The
first person I known is Izzat Hanif. He is my bed neighbor. Enough for day one.
So, let’s start with orientation week.
For the orientation week. I was introduced
with our lecturer who will teach us for three months. First, Mr Hazmiruddin, Mr
Aldrich, Mrs Theva and Mr Renato. Like all the orientation week, we were
distributed into group with 10 to 11 people in group. My group name izzat and
friends. What a cliche name. HAHAHAHAHA. My teammates is, izzat (leader),
Zamir, Puteri, Haina, Azlina, Zahirah, Syahirah, Shahirah, Alya, Aina and me.
We were given a task to make a music video, because this is Intensive English
Course so we need to sing and act to make a music video using our own words. You know it’s so hard than you think.
HAHAHA
On last day of orientation week, all of us
were distributed into 4 classes. Aurelius, Aristotle, Soctrates and Voltaire. I was in Voltaire
class with other 31 students. The lecturer who teach us was Mr Hazmiruddin and
Mr Aldrich. Mr Amr teach us speaking and listening while Mr Rich teach us
writing and reading
This four section has 4 level of education
that is A1, A2, B1 and B2
On the early class we learn about
basic English such as verbs, grammar, vocabulary, nouns, singular and plural
and other what we learned at school and do activity to break the ice within my classmates.
Let me talk about what I learned in IEC.
For writing and reading class, I have learned about skimming and scanning,
compare and contrast, supporting detail, main idea, and causes and effects.
While for speaking and listening, I learned : questions and responses, best
reply, guess, anagrams, British Slang, monologue/dialogue and listening B2
level.
Besides study, we also do some activities
such as sports competition between Kolej Yayasan Felda Pahang, Kolej Yayasan
Felda Negeri Sembilan and Pusat Bahasa Inggeris. It is an annual activity for
students of Kolej Yayasan Felda to strengthen the fellowship between each Kolej
Yayasan Felda. I am also participated in ping pong competition and earn bronze
medal. Other than that, I also involved in choir performance for convocation
ceremony for Kolej Yayasan Felda at Dewan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur. We also go to
Felda Tower for academic visit. IEC also invite DR. Azlina to give a talk about
“language and Communication Skills”.
For the closing of this course, we joined 2
days & 1 night camping at Perah Camp, FRIM, Kepong. For this camp, each
class needs to perform a performance for farewell night. My class, Voltaire has
prepared an acting and dancing performance. For your information, my class also
known as a library class because we are very quiet in class not like the other
classes. Maybe because there are many clever people in my class, that why we
work in silence because that is Voltaire style HAHAHA. Just kidding.
12 & 13 February 2020
For this camp, I was assigned as a
fasilitator. We have done many activities at there such as explorace, IEC
Talent Show and Class performance. My station game for explorace is Army/Navy.
For the IEC Talent Show, my group was doing a group singing. The time has come
for farewell night, but something bad happen during that night. Out of a
sudden, the whole area was blackout so we just do our performance in dark and
what funny my class attire was all black so I think everyone don’t see us
dancing in that night. HAHAHA. After all the performance done, “tadaa” there
was a light. We continue that night with giving certificate to all PBI students
because has done the study.
For the next day, our lecturer asked us to
do it again our class performance. And then, there is sharing session between
PBI student. This session has brought me to the land of cry because I keep cry
hearing what they say about three months together with us. Something has make me
fell shocked. Our class has win class performance although we just do a simple
acting and dance. KNOW KNOW LIBRARY WIN. HAHA.
